Supria Dhanda Becomes Goa Institute of Management’s First Woman Founding Donor with ₹1.025 Crore Contribution

GOA, August 12, 2026: Goa Institute of Management (GIM) has recognised Ms. Supria Dhanda (MBA, Class of 1998) as the Institute’s first woman Founding Donor of the GIM Endowment Fund, following her contribution of ₹1.025 crore, one of the largest alumni gifts in the Institute’s history.

In recognition of her contribution, GIM has named one of its student residence halls after Ms. Dhanda. She is also among the inaugural honourees on GIM’s Star Walk, India’s first alumni donor recognition installation inspired by the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Ms. Dhanda was felicitated during GIM’s Foundation Day celebrations by Prof. Ajit Parulekar, Director, Goa Institute of Management, in the presence of faculty, students, alumni and distinguished guests. The occasion marked her journey from a GIM student to technology leader, venture capitalist and philanthropist. She is currently Co-Founder and Managing Partner at WYSER and Founder of BAGGGEL Foundation.

On being recognised as GIM’s first woman Founding Donor, Ms. Supria Dhanda said, “Strong institutions shape nations. Contributing to the GIM Endowment Fund is my way of giving back to an institution that has been part of my journey. I appreciate GIM and its partner, Univariety, for creating a platform that makes it easier for alumni to come together and contribute. I hope more alumni will join this effort to support future generations of students.” 

Speaking about the significance of alumni philanthropy, Prof. Ajit Parulekar, Director, Goa Institute of Management, said, “Institutions are built not only through academic excellence but also through the enduring commitment of those who have benefited from them. Supria’s contribution reflects the confidence that alumni place in GIM’s future and in the role the Endowment Fund can play in creating opportunities for generations of students. We are honoured to recognise her as our first woman Founding Donor.” 

The GIM Endowment Fund is one of the Institute’s initiatives to build a sustainable culture of alumni philanthropy. Through contributions from alumni such as Ms. Dhanda, the Fund aims to support GIM’s long-term vision of academic excellence, innovation and student support. Developed in collaboration with Univariety, the initiative provides a structured platform for alumni to contribute to the Institute.
